Meet our Hypnotherapists

Heather Hutchison – Clinical Director and Owner

Heather is the owner and Clinical Director at HMH Therapy. She graduated from Glasgow University with a Masters Degree in Psychology in 1998.  From there she went into the Call Centre industry working in analytical, people-oriented roles.  Fifteen years ago, she decided that she needed to get back to her roots and work to help people, and so she became a Reiki practitioner in her spare time.

On qualifying as a Hypnotherapist in 2010 Heather moved straight into Clinical Practice, and within 6 months her clinic had grown into a full-time practice.  Since then she has quickly moved up the ranks of the Hypnotherapy Industry and is now a Senior Hypnotherapist with her regulatory body the National Council for Hypnotherapy. Heather is passionate about high standards within the Hypnotherapy profession and that is why she trained to be a Hypnotherapy Supervisor.  This means that she helps and supports newly qualified Hypnotherapists during their first three years out of training (and beyond), supporting them to become ethical and professional hypnotherapists.   Heather has also completed her COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills and combines traditional counselling skills and psychotherapeutic techniques with hypnotherapy.  Heather runs a well established Peer Group to help support local hypnotherapists in practice.  She has built up a far-reaching reputation as a Hypnotherapist and now sees clients from all over Central Scotland and beyond, from as far away as Dundee and Penicuik to East Kilbride and Kirkcaldy.  Heather has also been running the UK Academy Scotland training school for the last 8 years to train people to become Hypnotherapists.

Heather holds a full Disclosure Certificate allowing her to work with vulnerable adults and children.

She has also undertaken many specialist Hypnotherapy courses over the years.  Some of these have been on Depression, Anxiety, Weight Management, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Paediatric Hypnotherapy and Inner Child Therapy.

As well as being a Senior Hypnotherapist as awarded by the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH), Heather is also a registered member of the prestigious Complementary and National Healthcare Council (CNHC).  The CNHC not only regulates Hypnotherapists but all complementary health practitioners.  It is seen as the Quality Mark of the profession, and that is why the Department of Health recommends that you should consult with someone who is CNHC registered where the particular profession is recognised by the CNHC.

As part of Heather’s Professional memberships with the NCH and CNHC she needs to undertake continuous professional development and training every year to keep her skills up to date.  Her qualifications have all been checked and verified and she holds the correct insurance to practice with clients.

Heather is a Paediatric specialist having undergoing additional training to work with children and she works with Kids from the age of 7 upwards.  Heather also specialises in treating anxiety and low mood in both adults and kids as well as Trauma, OCD, PTSD. relationship issues etc.

It is very important that you always see a Hypnotherapist who is a member of a Professional Body and that you double check that they are in fact showing as a member on that Professional Body’s Website.  That way you can be assured that you will receive the highest level of care, expertise and professionalism.

Lisa Lee – Clinical Hypnotherapist

Lisa Lee – Clinical Hypnotherapist

Lisa is a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Paediatric Specialist who works with both
adults and children from the age of 7 and upwards.
Lisa graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2012 with a MA (Hons)
degree in Psychology, having always been fascinated by the human mind and
behaviour. She began her working life in sales, design, and customer service
roles, where she enjoyed building professional relationships and always strived
to go the extra mile for her customers.
Her first personal insight into hypnotherapy was in the form of hypnobirthing,
which she studied and used for the births of her children. She was amazed at
what an empowering and positive experience the hypnobirthing was, which
led to her motivation to train as a Clinical Hypnotherapist. Lisa is calm,
empathetic, and approachable, aiming to inspire and support people to make a
positive change in their lives. She believes strongly in everyone striving to
become the best version of themselves and living their best life. As she always
wanted to work with children, Lisa decided to expand her skills and completed
further specialist training in working with children and families. Helping
children is her passion – she always feels like it is such a privilege to work with
them and support them in finding their path in life and achieving their goals.
Lisa is a member of the NCH and the CNHC and follows by their Code of Ethics.
She has a valid PVG certificate that allows her to work with vulnerable adults
